With COVID-19 restrictions lifting, Hope and Area Recreation Centre is launching a hiring campaign this spring.
In the past few years, the Centre, like many employers, faced staff shortages and was forced to limit opening hours and some programs. Now the Centre is looking to hire nearly a dozen staff to ensure programming, including summer camps and swim lessons, runs at full capacity.
There are a variety of jobs available including full and part-time positions.
People new to recreation from all backgrounds and age groups are encouraged to explore the job openings. Part-time positions may be ideal for people looking for flexibility and additional hours. If you’re curious about a career in recreation, give the Centre a call at 604-869-2304 or drop by the front desk for a quick tour.
Current job openings include:
- Customer Service Representative I
- Facility operator III
- Fitness attendant (up to three positions)
- Lifeguard (up to five positions)
- Lifeguard – Almer Carlson Pool (three positions)
- Recreation assistant (up to three positions)

The Centre provides a wide range of recreation services and programs to residents of Hope and surrounding areas. From fitness classes for adults and kids, to a well stocked gym and swimming lessons in the pool, the Centre offers health and wellness options for everyone in the community.
