A woman from Hope has been arrested for criminal harassment.
On Jan. 13, Hope RCMP arrested a 26-year-old woman at a residence in the 600 block of Coquihalla Street after receiving multiple complaints of harassment against her. At around 2 p.m., police arrived at the home where they seized several items related to a series of threats and lies — being posted online on social media sites and in private messages — over the past several months.
“Criminal Harassment is a difficult investigation,” said Staff Sergeant Dwayne Farlin in a press release. “Especially when the harassment is online and over social media. Lengthy search warrants are often required, which was the case in this investigation. Now that we have the evidence, further search warrants will be required to examine the electronic devices seized.”
The woman was later released from custody, with several conditions that she has to abide by. This includes having zero contact with three individuals named during the investigation.
