This weekend, Hope will join the rest of Canada in remembering the missing and murdered Indigenous women.

Hope’s Paint Canada Red event is one of several events across the country. All are welcome to join the remembrance walk starting at Memorial Park in Hope at 11:30 a.m. The walk itself will begin at noon.

Dancers are welcome to dress in regalia, and drummers are needed. Local organizers Amber Hope and Tia Loewen ask those who have cowbells and guitars to bring their instruments along with anything that will make noise.

“Please feel free to carry a photo of a fallen brother or sister that didn’t make it home,” Hope wrote.
