The trails on both sides of the Vedder River in Chilliwack make up the Vedder Greenway, a natural, recreational jewel attracting more than half a million visitors every year.
With people increasingly looking for safe outdoor activities in the wake of COVID-19, the trails are more popular than ever with locals and visitors alike.
A master plan survey is now underway by City of Chilliwack to guide the long-term planning for the future of this outdoor trail system.
“The Vedder River Rotary Trail is the most popular trail system in Chilliwack used by over half a million users annually. With the onset of COVID-19, recreation along the Vedder Greenway has risen even more as people seek safe, outdoor activities,” according to a city notice.
“To address the increased use, we are working on a long-term plan for the future of this area. The first step in this process is to hear from you!”
They are looking at implementing some “short-term improvements” to accommodate all users.
Vedder Greenway users are asked to fill out the survey by October 9. Share feedback here as the survey is in two parts.
There are 11 questions to scroll through and option of providing “map input” by clicking on a separate tab at the top or scrolling down below the questions.
