A man has been taken to hospital after what police are calling a "targeted" shooting at an encampment in Surrey.
On Saturday, Aug. 3 at 8:41 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a man suffering from a gunshot wound in what a police press release describes as an "encampment" in the 5300 block of 180 Street in the Cloverdale area.
The Surrey RCMP general investigations unit is working to determine the circumstances of the shooting, the release reports.
"Evidence-gathering is still underway, but initial indications are this was a targeted, isolated incident," it says.
