Latest overpass hit was by a S.G.D. Transport Ltd. company vehicle at the CP Rail overpass in Langley on Tuesday, July 16.

A trucking company based out of Maple Ridge has had its entire fleet of commercial trucks suspended after one of the company's trucks was involved in an overpass strike in Langley on Tuesday, July 16.

The collision happened early Tuesday morning on Highway 1 at the CP Rail overpass in Langley.

The B.C. Ministry of Transportation is still investigating, but the company, S.G.D. Transport Ltd., will have to pull its seven vehicles off the roads pending the outcome of the ministry's investigation.

This is the only overpass strike for S.G.D. Transport Ltd. recorded in the ministry's crash report history, which dates back to 2021.

The CP Rail overpass was last hit on May 21, when a driver of a M&H Transport Ltd. was found to have failed to measure their load.

Before that, the same overpass was struck on March 22 for a similar reason by a driver of a Best Bin Rentals & Disposal Ltd. vehicle.

So far this year, there have been 19 overpass strikes in the province, five of which were in Langley.
