UPDATE: One person flown to hospital after car, dump truck collide on Lougheed in Agassiz

Drive was trapped in vehicle northeast of Seabird Island at Johnson Slough Rest Area

One person was trapped after a car and a dump truck collided on Lougheed Highway in Agassiz Tuesday morning (July 20).

The collision was reported in the eastbound lanes around 8:30 a.m. at the Johnson Slough Rest Area of Highway 7, northeast of Seabird Island. All lanes are blocked and drivers are advised to use Highway 9 or Highway 1 as alternate routes.

Around 8:45 a.m. it was reported the driver of the car was trapped, and Agassiz Fire Department was on-scene. By about 9:10 a.m. the driver had been removed from the vehicle and was in the care of BC Emergency Health Services.

At 9:40 a.m. the driver was moved to an air ambulance to be flown to hospital.
