A brazen daylight robbery has the Hope RCMP looking for a man who stole a Predator 2 axe from Kerfuffle Creations.

The police have confirmed that around 4:15 p.m., they received reports that a man dressed in black grabbed the axe and fled the store yesterday (Feb. 9) during business hours.

“We’ve been provided with video from the store and a receipt with [the item’s] value,” said RCMP Staff Sergeant Dwayne Farlin. “We have not been able to locate the suspect yet.”

The owner, Sarah Preson, took to Facebook to put out the word and also asked for help in locating the item.

“This is NOT ok,” said Preson, via a post on the Hope BC Bulletin Board Facebook group. “[A] reward may be given for information, name and the arrest of this guy.”

In that same post, Preson said the “axe has a mini green gem piece that removes” and that it isn’t a common piece.

Police ask that anyone with information on the man, the axe, or their whereabouts to contact Constable Werner. The Hope RCMP can be contacted at 604-869-7750.
