A nighttime thief was looking for more than just “veggie burglary” after breaking and entering into the Hope Community Garden.

According to the Community Garden, the thief stole a mobile seat and their propane heater after “illegally” entering the garden on Thursday night (March 9) by climbing the fence. While the stool was later found the heater remains missing.

“Both of these items were donated to the garden by generous residents of our community,” said the Community Garden in a Facebook post. “The mobile stool was found by one of our garden members at the Coquihalla River while out walking their dog, but the heater remains missing.

“The RCMP have been notified, however we are asking you, as our community, to keep an eye out for the missing propane heater.”

Anyone with information about the thief, or the missing heater, should contact RCMP at 604-869-7750 or the Community Garden through email at hopecommunitygarden1@gmail.com.
