Got opinions about policing in your community? The upper Fraser Valley RCMP want to know.

Starting Monday, Jan. 7 residents of Agassiz, Harrison, Hope, Boston Bar, Chilliwack and the rest of the upper Fraser Valley can share their thoughts on the RCMP in their community through an online survey.

According to an RCMP press release, the survey will help local detachments create a new “strategic plan” for each community, which will help with decision-making about how to best use RCMP resources.

The survey, which will run until Jan. 27, asks residents about what crimes are a priority concern in their community and what the RCMP could be doing different.

RCMP say the survey will be completely anonymous, with answers being submitted to a an independent third party who will provide the detachment with a summary of the responses.

The Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment said it plans to report back on the results of the survey later this year.
