The Hope Serious Crime Unit and the Hope Fire Department are investigating a series of small fires in the Silver Creek area over the holiday season.

“Thankfully in all cases the fires were small, caused only minor damage, and no one was hurt,” says public relations officer for the RCMP, Corporal Lea-Anne Dunlop.

Three homes in the Silver Creek area, as well as the Silver Creek Elementary School, suffered exterior fire damage.

“The potential for extensive damage and harm when fire is involved is very real,” added Dunlop.

Anyone with information relating to the fires is asked to call the Hope RCMP at 604-869-7750.

Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS, or online by visiting www.chilliwackcrimestoppers.ca
