Two-vehicle crash near Lake of the Woods Monday

Hope Fire Department responded to crash which involved two vehicle, one on fire

The Hope Fire Department put out a vehicle fire at a crash along Highway 1 near Lake of the Woods Monday afternoon.

The call came in to the fire deparment at 4 p.m. on Dec. 17. Crews arrived to find two vehicles involved in a crash on Highway 1 northbound near the District of Hope transfer station, one of which was on fire.

“We had a two vehicle crash, report of fire, and we got on scene and one vehicle was fully involved in fire,” said fire chief Tom DeSorcy. “We dealt with that and made the area safe.”

The highway was blocked for a short time, however the incident was not recorded by DriveBC. The fire department cleared the scene at 5 p.m.
