Akimi Roy Kariatsumari passed away on September 30, 2019 at Fraser Canyon Hospice at age 89 years. He was born on November 12, 1929 in Vancouver B.C.
Roy is survived by his loving wife Kazuko, children Eileen, Carol (Ron), Karen, Mike (Lisa), and grandkids Emily, Katie, and Cody. Sister Kay (Mynn Mukaida, predeceased), brother Yosh, (Gail), and numerous nieces, nephews and family in Canada and Japan.
He was predeceased by his parents Ichisuke and Teru, brother Chester, and sister Sachiko. A private family funeral was held at Henderson's Funeral Chapel.
Akimi's resilience in the face of adversity kept him strong throughout his life as well as throughout his lengthy illness.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fraser Canyon Hospital and the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
