Alice Alberta Chernask passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 25, 2019 at Fraser Hope Lodge in Hope BC. She was the widow of Edward Chernask who she shared 60 years of marriage before his passing in 2008.
Alice was born on May 15, 1930 in Alexo, Alberta to parents Wilfred and B. (Maude) Helmer.
Alice moved to Chilliwack at an early age, then moved to Hope as a teenager where she spent the rest of her life. It was in Hope where she met the love of her life Edward. They were married in 1947.
Alice loved to golf and most of all music, singing most of the time.
Alice is survived by her son Dal (Roseann) and daughter Lori McArthur, as well as her grandchildren who she was most proud of, Tanya Lenfesty (Darren), Tyson (Kylene), Steven McArthur (Kristen) and Sheena McArthur (Darrell) as well as her great grand children: Camryn, Carter, Christopher, Malcolm, Raelyn and Robin.
A funeral service will be held on Friday May 3, 2019 at 11 am at Hope United Church, 310 Queen St, Hope BC. Luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Alzheimers' Society.
