HOUSTON, Audrey Phyllis Grace

September 26, 1925 - December 4, 2016


Audrey Phyllis Grace Houston was born in Horfield, Bristol, England to Lesley and Grace Meredith, one of six children. In her twenties she joined the A.T.S. as a cook. While in the army she met and married her husband John in 1946. In 1958 they immigrated to Canada and she joined John in Hope BC. After raising four children, she went to work at the Fraser Canyon Hospital. She first worked in house keeping and later as a nurses aide, until she retired. After many trips back to England and to Hawaii, she lost John in 1983 and in 2015 she lost her son Andrew. Audrey is survived by her children: daughter Linda (Fred) Talarico of Hope, son Robert (Anna) Houston of Armstrong, son Stephen (Trudey) Houston of Chilliwack, grandchildren: James (Lesley) Talarico of Hope, David (Teresa) Talarico of Hope, Mary-Lyn (Bruce) Goode of Vernon, Colleen Houston of Kelowna, great grandchildren: Evan, April and Steven Talarico, Katherine Fry, Justin Faukins, Jessie Andresen all of Hope and Avery Goode of Vernon. Audrey will be remembered by all for her feistiness and wicked sense of humor. She will be missed by everyone. No flowers by request. Donations can be made to Fraser Hope Lodge.
