COLBOURNE; Betty Winifred
1916 - 2006
We are saddened with the unexpected passing of Betty Winifred Colbourne on Wednesday, December 20, 2006. Beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Betty was born in London, England on 18th November, 1916. She and her husband Bill moved to Hope in 1971 and she was always happy to call her home in Dogwood Valley her "Shangri La". Predeceased by her husband Bill and her daughter Virginia. She leaves behind son Christopher and daughter Jennifer (Lopez), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as many wonderful friends and family members in Canada and Great Britain. Mom was a very outgoing and active person who in her younger years in Britain was involved in the Womens Institute and was an amateur Shakespearian and character actress. She later developed a talent for painting. She loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends and she will be missed dearly. Betty's wishes were for a very private family farewell and to be cremated and her ashes scattered.
Our sincere thanks to Dr. Nyirenda and Botha and to the staff of the Hope Fraser Canyon Hospital for the very caring and compassionate way in which they dealt with us and my mother.
