November 6, 2022
Bob French passed away at home November 6th, 2022 after a courageous and quiet 18 month battle with cancer.
Bob will be missed by his wife Terry, his daughter Courtney (Marcel), his son Blair (Paul), Grandsons Declan, Liam, Lachlan and Oliver and his Sister (Jane).
Bob grew up in Richmond and met his wife on blind date. Little did they know that a hippie (Terry) and a square (Bob) would be best friends and celebrate 51 years of marriage.
After obtaining a Chartered Accountant Degree from the University of British Columbia, Bob and Terry moved to Hope in 1976 where he became controller at Emil Anderson Construction and retired in 2002 as Chief Financial Officer.
During his enjoyable 25 years at Emil Anderson Construction, he was a predominant member of the Hope community and was actively involved in the Chamber of Commerce, Hospital Board and Hope Otters Swim Club.
During retirement, Bob and Terry traveled the world. He took every opportunity to explore exotic destinations such as China, Egypt and South Africa and enjoyed cultural experiences across Europe and Australia. All this was topped off by spending winters in Maui golfing, enjoying the weather and catching up with their snowbird friends.
The last few years were spent with family. He loved pool days at the French Riviera with his grandkids and supporting all of their sporting endeavours.
Bob was a patient man, you have to be to be married to Terry but they loved each other with all their hearts. Bob recently shared that his proudest accomplishment was his family and their successes.
The family would like to thank his Cancer Team in Abbotsford who were so compassionate during the care and Dr. Petrasku in Hope.
Terry would like to thank close friends for their support over the last 18 months.
