Charlotte HOLMBERG

Charlotte (Lottie) Emma Holmberg passed away at Hope, BC on February 22 with lung cancer. Lottie was born on April 4, 1921 at Hargrave, MB, the youngest of six girls and two boys. She attended Mongomery School and Hargrave High School. At the age of 19, she took a hair dressing course in Winnipeg and was employed in different beauty salons in that city. In 1948, she married Vern Holmberg, a brakeman on the C.N.R. Later Vern joined the air force and was stationed at different places in Canada. In 1959 his unit was sent to Lahr, Germany. During this time, they adopted Patricia Ann, five years old, from Karlshrue. On returning to Canada, they were sent to Cold Lake, AB. On Vern's retirement from the air force, they moved to Sardis, BC and to Hope, BC.

Lottie is survived by her husband, Vern; her daughter Patricia (Tim MacInnis); and granddaughter Chelsy, who live at Ardrossan, AB. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Dearden, Evelyn Clarke, and Violet Leslie, all of Virden, MB; and her brothers-in-law, Gordon (Margaret) Holmberg and Eddie Holmberg of Winnipeg, MB. Lottie is also survived by many nieces and nephews who remember her as a special Aunt who treated them as if they were her own.

She was predeceased by her parents, James and Nora (Heaman) Tapp; her brothers, Wilber Tapp and William (Norma) Tapp; her sisters, Ruby Tapp and Myrtle (Stan) Crump; her brothers-in- law,Wilfred Dearden, Geo Clarke, and Lyle Leslie; her nephew, Wallace Dearden; her great nephews, Perry Elliott and Mark Leslie. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
