Consuelo "Moning" Villegas Veloso died peacefully in Fraser Canyon Hospital at the age of 89 on November 3rd, 2019 in Hope, British Columbia.
Consuleo was born in Negros Oriental, The Philippines, on November 1st, 1930, the daughter of the late Francisca and Jose Pepito Villegas. She is survived by her children Maribel (Robert) Pargee, of Hope/Cebu, The Philippines, Grace (Michael) McLoughlin of Hope, Debbie (Henry) Garcia of Cebu, The Philippines, Fortunato Junior "Jun Jun" (Cielo) Veloso of Vancouver, Charlotte (Cornelio) Magno of Vancouver; her daughter-in-law Abita (Sumaylo) Veloso of Vancouver; her grandchildren, all of Vancouver: Katrina Garcia (children Kahren, and Kean), Mary Margaret "MM" Veloso, Rachel Veloso, Ken Magno, and Kyle Magno; her youngest sister Mercedes Suganob of Vancouver; her niece Michelle (Ruel) Lonzaga (children Christian, and Christine) of Vancouver; and many other relatives.
She was predeceased by her husband Fortunato Veloso, her son Ramon Veloso, her son Dennis Veloso, her other sisters and brothers, and many other relatives.
Consuelo was a retired school teacher, but to her children she will always be their teacher. She instilled in them the value of close family ties, and faith in God.
She immigrated to Canada with her husband in 1993.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Good Hope Roman Catholic Church, 671 Water Street, Hope, B.C. on Saturday, Nov 23, 2019, at 10 am, with a reception in the Church Hall to follow.
The family has gratitude to the Fraser Canyon Hospital staff who attended, and the Fraser Canyon Hospice Society members who attended, who made her last few days, and the families' last few days with her, so comfortable.
