David Alan Young, age 65, of Hope, BC passed away on May 30th, 2021 at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital surrounded by his family.
David was born January 15th, 1956 in Chilliwack, BC, the eldest of five sons to Myrtle (deceased) and Fredrick Young. He is survived by his wife, Gayle of 46 years, son Jordan (Christie), daughter Andrea (Ryan) and four grandchildren - Ethan (9), Lydia (7), Connor (6) and Nathan (5).
David is also survived by his father, Fred (Nancy) and his brothers Randall (June), Timothy (Patti) and Darren (Shannon). David was predeceased by his mother, Myrtle (2005) and brother, Ronald (2013).
David became a certified Glazier in the 1970's and was a prominent business owner and respected community member of Hope, BC. Along with his wife Gayle, they built an established and successful glass shop that is still operating today. He was also involved in managing several family gas stations over the last 40+ years with his brother Randy and father, Fred.
David was an elder and well-loved member of the Hope Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.   He was very active in the congregation giving many talks and taking the lead in the care and maintenance of the building, as well as with his preaching work. David was known by many as having a mild, calm, and humble attitude.  
Above all, David's greatest treasure was his family.
Together, they made many happy memories over the years whether it was traveling or working alongside of one another. David will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life memorial and a private family gathering to spread his ashes will be held on a future date. Thank you to all that have sent flowers, cards and messages of condolences to Gayle and the entire family.
