April 28, 2025
It is with sadness and love that we announce the passing of Donald Craig Skea on April 28, 2025, in Hope, BC, at the age of 90. Don was predeceased by his wife, Joy Skea;
his son, David Skea; and his great-grandson, Tate Don Peters.
Don is survived by his daughters, Heather (Justin) and Jane; his grandchildren, Mitchell (Brooke), Jordann, Jaimie (Dale), Scott (Sarah), and Kelly (Nick); and his great-granddaughters, Ivy and Bradie. He is also survived by his special friend, Pearl, as well as extended family and friends.
Don moved to Hope as a teenager and became a pillar of the community. He dedicated over 40 years to the local volunteer fire department, proudly served as a Mason for 65 years and was also a fellow Shriner. Don took pride in the various jobs he held, from driving a local school bus for his Uncle Jack to working as a truck driver for Roy Morrow Chevron.
Don enjoyed spending his free time at Green Lake with family and friends. His love for family was the cornerstone of his life, and he found his greatest joy in their company.
A special thanks to Doctor Darby and the staff at the Fraser Hope Lodge.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 23rd, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Hope Golf Club.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fraser Hope Lodge.
