Doris Catherine McKay passed away in the Chilliwack General Hospital on February 16, 2005 at the age of 82. She was born in Rosedale, BC on April 2, 1922. Doris is survived by her children, daughter Lynne (Wayne) Larson of Chilliwack, son Allan (Leona) McKay of Williams Lake, daughter-in-law Joan McKay of Chemenius, seven grandchildren, Allan, Vince, Todd, Al-Lisa, Tim, Stan, and Greg, four greatgrandchildren, Tia, Dayton, Cole and Alexis. She is also survived by her brother Bruce (Phyllis) Munro of Chilliwack, Ken Lillian) Munro of Cache Creek, Lyle (Pat) Munro of Kamloops, sisters Ruth Karr of Vernon and Joan (Ed) Timms of Clinton as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by her husband Gordon in 2004, one sister, Flora Munro in 1931 and one son, Ian in 1994. Doris was an avid flower, bird and animal lover.
Service of Remembrance will be held on February 26, 2005 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Henderson's Funeral Home in Chilliwack with Major Angus Haggarty officiating. If friends and family so desire, donations may be made to the following charities: Chilliwack Hospital Auxiliary, or the B.C. Heart & Stroke Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society.
