ELIZABETH

Dorothy Elizabeth Thokle (nee Casey) passed away in Surrey BC on October 21st, 2008 at the age of 79 after a long battle with Lewy Body Disease. Dorothy was born in Edmonton, AB on August 17th, 1929 and lived with her family in Grand Prairie, AB. She moved with her family to Flood, BC (near Hope) in 1943 and married Gaylord Thokle in 1950. She remained in the Hope area as an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion and Hope Golf Club, and enjoyed her life making crafts, traveling, curling, golfing and many other activities with her friends and family.

Part of a large family, Dorothy was a pillar of strength and she was always there to help. She was predeceased by her husband Gaylord, five brothers and two sisters. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her five children: Gayle (Rick), Glenn (Susan), Deanna (Jon), Donna (Brent), Greg (Irene); eight grandchildren: Jeffrey, Kimberly (Jason), Angela (Rick), Ryan (Kris), Alexander, Richard, Cheyanne and Breena; four great grandchildren; two sisters: Joan (Roy) and Arlene (Herman); two brothers: Herb and Tom (Elaine) as well her many in-laws, nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to the staff of the Northcrest Care Center for the loving care they provided our mother over the past two years.

The Celebration of Her Life was held at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall in Hope BC on Saturday, October 25th at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson Society of Canada. Condolences can be left at www.MeM.com

If we could have one lifetime wish.

One dream that would come true.

We'd pray with all our hearts

For yesterday and you.
