It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas Robert Marlatt. At age 69 years young he led a strong, healthy, and spiritual life. Doug grew up in Hope BC, where he raised his daughters. Later in life he moved to Buick, BC to enjoy the peacefulness on his farm along side his animals.
Doug is survived by two daughters, Crystal and Mellissa, their husbands, and four grandchildren, his eight siblings, and an incredibly loving community of family and friends.
He had a passion for dancing, spending time in nature, and enjoying the solitude of his farm. Doug had many talents, he worked in the forestry industry, volunteered as an auxiliary RCMP, and after retirement was the President of the Derek Dance Club in Fort St. John. Doug led by example encouraging others to have a strong work ethic, to be present, to laugh, and to have faith in God.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am on Saturday March 14 at the Grace Baptist Church in Hope, BC. There will also be Celebration of Life on March 28 in Fort St. John. Everyone is welcome. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Hope Community Services or the Derek Dance Club in Fort St. John.
