ADAMS, Edith Lillian Margaret

(nee Habgood)

August 17,1921 - February 2, 2008

Our beloved mother passed away peacefully at the age of 86 years, on February 2, 2008 at St. Jude's Anglican Home in Vancouver, B.C.

Edith was born in Cloverdale, B.C., the second of four sisters and grew up in the Haney area at Webster's Corner and Pitt Lake. In 1949, she and her husband, Bill, moved to Hope, B.C. where they lived for many years and raised their five children. Edith was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed family activities, going for walks into town, and tending her garden in the summer (especially her zinnias). She had a sweet and loving nature and is greatly remembered for her patience and kindness. In later years, Edith and Bill were active in local community events and enjoyed their involvement with the Canyon Golden Age Society.

Edith was predeceased by her sister Dorothy(1987), loving husband Bill (1994), mother Lillian (1996), and son-in-law Gregg (2007). She will be dearly missed by her children: Gail, Gary, Maureen (Ted), Michael (Bernadette), and Shaun (Anita); grandchildren: Christopher, Gregg Jr., Andrew, Hilary, Dylan, Vinnie and Tristan; and her sisters: Alice and Eileen (Glen).

A Traditional Service will be held on Friday, February 8, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hope United Church, 310 Queen Street, Hope, B.C. with Reverend Wilda Cottam officiating. A Reception will be held in the Church hall following the Burial.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Anglican Home, 810 West 27th Avenue, Vancouver, B.C. V5Z 2G7.

Her family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of St. Jude's and Blenheim Lodge who cared for her during her time in Vancouver.
