1932-2020 ~ We are so sad to announce the passing of Geoffrey Thurlow Hodgkinson on March 8th, 2020, following a long battle with cancer. Born in Vancouver, Geoffrey is survived by Joan, his loving wife of sixty-six years, daughter Nancy (Rock), son Jim (Seana Lee), grandson Christopher (Victoria), granddaughter Alyssa, great-granddaughters, Elizabeth, Alexandra, Gwynevere and Katherine, his treasured nieces and nephews and many great friends.
Geoff was loved for his charm, his sense of humour and his integrity. Some of Geoff's favourite memories include the ten years he spent living in the Yukon where he worked in life insurance earning membership in the Million Dollar Round Table.
It was wonderful to hear Geoff sing. As a young man, he was Vancouver's "Frankie Lane". Geoff "lived to ski". He won first place in "Inter-High School Downhill" as a teenager and he was still skiing and working as a Manning Park instructor well into his eighties. In 1997, Geoff was an inaugural member of Hope Citizens Patrol and he was ultimately awarded Honorary Lifetime Membership.
No Celebration of Life is planned at this time but we wish to thank Geoff's medical teams and his Palliative Care team as well as our family and friends for their support and prayers.
