Hans REBHAHN

August 13, 2009

In Loving Memory of

Hans Rebhahn

A loving husband and devoted father, Hans was born August 13, 1927 in Mosshelm, Austria. Hans passed away peacefully Sept. 9, 2009 in Hope, BC, his home of many years.

Hans had a long and varied career. He spent several years teaching in Austria as a young man. Once his parents passed on, he immigrated to Canada in 1951 and took advantage of many different opportunities there. He started with a job opening and running a Hudson's Bay store in Inuvik before moving on to become an accountant with Palm Dairies in Vancouver. Hans eventually returned to his first love of teaching and taught for more than 20 years in British Columbia. He worked in several small towns in BC at a variety of levels and in many different specialities including special needs children. He finished his teaching career and retired in Hope in 1992.

When he wasn't teaching, he took great pleasure and passion in maintaining his yard and garden and enjoyed his membership in the Canyon Golden Agers. Hans will be dearly missed by all.

Hans is survived by his wife; Elsa Rebhahn, his son; Eric (Norma) Rebhahn, grandchildren; Amanda (Jeremy) Martins, Jaimes, Phillip Interisano, and great grandson; Jace Martins.

A small memorial service will be held by close family and friends in Hope, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Auxiliary of Fraser Canyon Hospital. A special thanks to our friends for their kindness, support and visits. Also a special thanks to the doctors, nurses and caregivers at the Fraser Hope Lodge who looked after Hans.
