Hildred Kathleen Dube (nee LaFave, formerly Hildred Bolster)

February 7, 1926 - February 3, 2017

Hildred was born in Vancouver, BC. In early childhood she moved with her family to Kamloops and later to Agate Bay resort on Adams Lake where she spent the rest of her childhood. Hildred married Joseph Bolster (1946) and had a large family. She later married Herman Dube (1973) and became a step mother. Hildred raised her children mainly in Clinton, BC. She was a single parent for many years and supported her family by working as a store clerk, in banking and as a bookkeeper. Hildred lived a long and eventful life. She was a strong resourceful woman. She raised her children mostly singlehandedly. She was an avid flower gardener, painter, classical music lover, and basket maker. Hildred loved and was very proud of the large family she helped create. Hildred is preceded by her parents Evelyn Alice (Taylor) Lafave and Thomas Elden Lafave, her four brothers Elden, Everett, George (Ted) and John (Jack). Hildred is also preceded by two of her children, Ronald and Linda who died in childhood, her grandson Peter and her two husbands. Hildred is survived by her sister Eunice, and her children: Allan, Kenneth, Lee, Michael, Evelyn, Robert, Brenda, Heather and Apryl, numerous daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, step children, 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; as well as many other relatives.
