JENSEN, Jack August

It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye to Jack August Jensen, born 1938 in Spuzzum and died March 7, 2016 in Cuba. Jack was predeceased by his loving father Hans Jensen, mother Irene Deegan, sister Jean Roper and brother Pat Deegan. Jack leaves to mourn his partner Leslie and her family, son Patric, daughter Shayna, grandchildren MeKrae, Olivia, Maya and Hanna. Also a large extended family (you people from Yale know who you are), a few very good friends and 2 big white dogs. Some will miss him. Jack worked hard all his life and didn't regret for a moment giving up his class 1 when he was 70. Jack enjoyed nothing more than chin wagging; in the morning with Pat and Roger, later in the day with Al and in the evening with Wayne and a host of others in between. Some will miss him. Jack had the benefit of good health until retirement and then as it's told "getting old wasn't for sissies" and he was hit with a storm of issues that slowed his roll. None of which kept him from visiting his beloved Cuba. Jack didn't go for the beach or the rum but because he truly liked the people (mostly women). His friend Maday was very dear to his heart. Some will miss him. If you were lucky enough to know Jack, really know him, then you knew he was soft hearted with babies, kind hearted with animals and saved his harshest criticism for himself. He had a love/dislike relationship with many people (again mostly women). Some will miss him. There is no service by request; Jack didn't want his enemies rejoicing nor his friends to have to say a sad goodbye.
