CARRAT, Janice

Beloved daughter of Judy and the late Ernie Carrat passed away Monday Sept 14/09 after a courageous battle with ALS. Her strength and determination carried her and all those that walked this difficult journey with her for the past 6 years.
Janice was born in Chilliwack and raised in Hope. She graduated from Hope Secondary and went on to UBC to receive her degree in Physical Education. She began her teaching career in Nelson BC and later returned to Hope, her favorite town, to teach at the school where she graduated. With her talent for teaching she was able to connect with her students. Janice gave freely of herself and touched many lives. On any given morning Janice could be seen jogging around the community. When that was no longer possible you would see her in her wheelchair speeding around town.
She will be sorely missed by her family, Pat Bronson, many friends and the caregivers that came into her life as "Special Angels".
Graveside service will be at the Royal Canadian Legion Cemetery on Kawkawa Lake Rd on Thursday Sept 17/09 at 2:00 p.m. Donations will be gratefully accepted to the ALS Society of BC at 208-1600 W 6th Ave, Vancouver BC, V6J 1RS and/or the Canadian Cancer Society.
