February 2, 1961 - August 5, 2021
On Aug 5, 2021 Lyndon Jay Hilts, 60, died suddenly of an industrial accident at his home in Kelowna, BC. He was born Feb 02, 1961 in Castlegar, BC to Audrey and Dennis Hilts.
Jay graduated from Hope Senior Secondary in 1979 and attended post secondary learning at BCIT obtaining his welding ticket. He furthered this by getting his ticket for high and low pressure pipeline welding.
He was also employed by the Ministry of Transportation and learned the survey trade. In 2003 he was diagnosed with a disruption to his nervous system that forced him out of the general workforce.
Jay was a genuine car buff who owned several muscle cars over the years. He loved fabricating and many believe his happiest times were at Pick-n-Pull and Knox Mountain Metals. He was also known for his unique humor and was an avid prankster.
Jay was always there to help people and would immediately put aside and drop his own agenda to assist any person who asked.
Jay was predeceased by his father Dennis and sister Janice. Surviving family members are his son Kurtis, daughter Amber (Kevin), mother Audrey, brother Bill (Cheryl), brother Greg (Cheryl), nephew Evan and niece Cara.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date due to the COVID protocols in these trying times. He is greatly missed.
