Miss Jeannine Virgini Dufresne passed away in Hope, BC on Monday, September 14, 2009 at the age of 69 years.
Jeanine was predeceased by her Mother, Lucille and her Father, George.
She is survived by her
loving Sister, Louise Dufresne of Hope, BC, Uncle Herve of Gateneau, Quebec and her little baby, Daisy.
Jeannine was born on February 29, 1940 in Vancouver, BC where she was also raised. Her university education took place at the University of Toronto where she received her Bachlor of Arts Degree and her Education Degree. Jeannine worked for the MSSB at the St.Joseph’s College School for her 30 year teaching career. She moved to Hope, BC upon her retirement and brought her family together in one place.
Jeannine loved reading, snorkelling, travelling and
volunteering her time to spend with the seniors in the
various lodges in Hope, BC. She was also a Eucharistic
Minister for Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church.
Louise would like to thank Dr. Nyirenda, Shelly and the Hospice volunteers, Rob the physiotherapist and especially the FCH nurses. Thank you to all of our good neighbors and friends for your support over the past months. Thanks also go to the members of the Parish for all their prayers and comfort.
A Funeral Service was held on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Hope Roman Catholic Church, 671 Water Avenue, Hope, BC with Father Peter
Altamirano as the Celebrant. The Burial took place at Our Lady Of Good Hope Roman Catholic Cemetery on Coquihalla Street, following the Service. A Reception was held in the Church Hall following the Burial.
