September 13, 1957 - February 7, 2025
It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Julia in her home in Hope, B.C. on February 7, 2025
Born in Iserlohn, Germany, Julia was a tenacious trooper who rallied through many adversities. Always resilient, she continued to love and live every moment beautifully.
Julia's greatest pleasures were her family, home and gardens, growing abundant flowers, tomatoes and hot peppers to prepare after harvest. She was an avid Quilter and created dozens of beautiful quilts for those she loved.
Julia was a young Mother, and her greatest love will always be her son, Christopher. In her early years she worked as a cook on Via Rail and The Dew Lines at Cambridge Bay. She also had a small hobby farm in Errington B.C. She grew vegetables, made preserves and raised various animals that she sold at the local Farmers Markets. She worked for three years at the Cascade Gardens in Banff, Alberta prior to attending Olds College. After college she worked as a self-employed landscaper until retirement, creating and maintaining beautiful gardens for her clients.
Julia and Melanie merged while studying Horticulture at Olds College in Alberta. We were destined, immediately. A week prior to Julia's passing, we recaptured moments of the intentful, playful pranks we played on others. We laughed until we cried and laughed some more. We agreed that we had accomplished what we always dreamed of, and that was to live an uncomplicated and simple life.
Julia was an extraordinary human that lived purposefully and with incredible love and gratitude until her final breath.
Left to Honour and Celebrate Julia is her loving partner Melanie Blackett of 35 years, Hope B.C., son Christopher Carson(Saki) of Vancouver,B.C. brother Paul Carson(Jan), niece Tamera Carson(Linden), nephew Kellin Carson(Mounira) all of Calgary, AB, mother Marie Carson of Esquimalt, B.C, and her beloved fur kids, Kenzie Mac and Jake Charlie.
Wholehearted gratitude to all Health Care Providers and the many First Responders that worked tirelessly to help Julia. Thanks to all that have reached out in support.
