In loving memory ~
There is sorrow in our hearts, June Mary McConnell surrounded by her loving family, peacefully ended her earthly journey on May 1, 2025. She leaves behind her beloved husband Rex, her children and spouses Eran, Tara (Aaron) Kerry (Bruce) Greg (Ardith), and armfuls of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Born in Creston, B.C. she met Rex in high school and immediately recognized him as the love of her life. They married in 1948 and in 1957 settled in beautiful Hope, B.C. where Rex established a Chartered Accountant Office while June tended to their home and children. And so the legacy began! June's warmth, kindness and love soon overflowed into the lives of the people of Hope and beyond. Anyone who met her was brought into her embrace and included in her aura of mothering and care.
She was constantly busy making pots of spaghetti and meatballs, creating costumes for school plays, teaching little ones how to read, handing out her delicious cookies, but she was always there for anyone who needed a hug and a tender listening ear.
June's heart reached out to the moon and the stars and she inspired all who knew her. Even though she will be missed beyond measure, she will live on in the kindness and warmth we give to one another.
