Katherine Atkinson passed away on November 29, 2005 in Hope, British Columbia at the age of 85 years.

Katherine was predeceased by both parents, 5 brothers and 5 sisters. She is survived by her loving family; son: Brian (Christie) of Surrey, B.C.; daughters: Marilyn (Jim) Creelman of of Maple Ridge, B.C., Sharon Herman of Mission, B.C., Heidi (Harry) Christi of Boston Bar, B.C., and Carol Hughes of Boston Bar, B.C.; brothers: Alex Yadernuk of Cranbrook, B.C. and Nick Yadernuk of Parksville, B.C.; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 09, 2005 @ 2:00 p.m. at the Mountainside Funeral Chapel, 1270 Ryder Street, Hope, B.C., with Pastor Jeff Kuhn officiating. A reception will follow with the location being announced at the Service. In lieu of flowers the family would like to request that donations can be made to the Fraser Canyon Hospice Society on Katherine’s behalf. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the nursing staff at the Fraser Canyon Hospital. A special thanks to Dr. V. Nyirenda for her excellent care and kindness to the family. Thanks also go to Deena Reis and the volunteer workers at the Fraser Canyon Hospice Society and a heartfelt thank you to Father John for Blessing Katherine just before she passed away.
