Lawrence RUDANCE

Lawrence Walter Rudance passed away peacefully in the home of his daughter and son-in-law with his wife, daughter and granddaughter May Ling at his side. Laurie was born November 21, 1928 in Merritt, BC to Margaret and William Rudance. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Evelyn; his daughter, Margaret (Leon); his 3 sons Keith (Lee), Mike (Bev) and Dave; by his 7 grand- children Michelle, Christine (Greg), Si Man, May Ling, Karyn (Tom), Tanya and Laura and by his 4 greatgrandchildren Joshua, Conner, Seanna and Isobel. He was predeceased by his brothers Albert and Frank. Laurie spent his entire life in British Columbia. After marrying Evelyn, July 1st, 1953, Laurie worked at the sawmill in Merritt and took on a second job as a bartender in the Coldwater Hotel to help raise his growing family. He moved with the family to Hope in 1962 where he remained a bartender at the Hope Motor Hotel until his retirement 32 years later. Laurie was a hard worker and remained busy managing the trailer park where he and Evelyn lived. In the summer of 2004 they made a move to Surrey where he lived the remainder of his days. A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 in Vancouver. A Celebration of Laurie's life will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2005 at 5:00 p.m. at the Eagle's Hall, Hope, BC. Flowers gratefully declined, if desired, donations in memory of Laurie may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation.
