IN MEMORY OF

MABEL ANNE GRANT

It is with deep sadness that we bid goodbye to the First North Bend May Queen, Mabel Anne Grant (nee Smith), born October 11, 1914 in the close CP Rail community of North Bend, BC. Mabel resided there to raise her 3 children Karen, Russell and Leonard, with her husband Buster (Benjamin) until moving to Kamloops in 1993. Throughout her 92 years, Mabel was an active and well-respected member of her church and the Order of the Pythian Sisters, whom, in addition to everyone that knew her, had the pleasure of listening to her play piano at many a gathering. Traditional in manner and dedicated to her family, she took pride in both her homemaking and lengthy employ at Hell's Gate Airtram. Her remarkable life and contributions will be remembered fondly.

With her passing on May 29, 2007, Mabel leaves behind her Grandchildren,Great-Grandchildren, a Daughter-in-Law, extended family and cherished friends. A Memorial Service will be held to honor Mabel on Saturday, June 16th, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Schoening's Funeral Service, 513 Seymour Street, Kamloops, BC. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Cerebral Palsy Association of BC in the name of Mabel Anne Grant.
