SAARI (nee Orr) – Maiza,
born to William Mason Orr and Martha
Priscilla Gammon, May 28,1922 in Chilliwack. Died peacefully at home with her beloved son Bill Acres and wife Judy holding her hands. Maiza grew up in Chilliwack and had many interesting jobs all over BC. She spent 16 years in Boston Bar running her Kanyon View restaurant. She retired to Hope with her late husband Eric where they lived overlooking the Fraser River for 26 years. She spent her last 3 years happily living with Bill and Judy in Coquitlam. In addition to Bill, Judy and her daughter Alison, Maiza was survived by her loving family in Victoria – Dan, Marion and Tiffany Saari and Dennis and Cathy Fielding. Maiza was
pre-deceased by her husbands – Robert (Robbie) Acres in 1945 and Eric Saari in 2004. Maiza will always be remembered for her wonderful smile and her patient manner in overcoming all obstacles in her path. The twinkle in her eyes remained with her until the end. Her sense of humour, joyous attitude to life and graciousness were appreciated by all who knew her. Thanks to Lakeshore Care Centre for respite time and thank you to the Coquitlam Home Health Care team who helped us take care of Maiza at the end. No service by request.
