MARGARET ALKE (MacDonald)
Margaret Alke, born in Vancouver, BC on October 18, 1916 passed away in Chilliwack Hospital on September 14, 2007. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, John, in 2005, her eldest daughter Eloise Pettigrew (Wally) in 2006 and her grandson Aaron Gagnon in 1997. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Mary-Susan (Sue) Gagnon (Peter), of Chilliwack, Elizabeth Alke of Edmonton, AB and Hillary Bray (Ian) of Surrey, BC and her son, Byron (Carol) Alke of Courtenay, BC; 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Margaret and John moved from White Rock to Hope in 1986 when John at the age of 70, finished building their lovely home on the Coquihalla River. Due to health concerns Margaret & John moved to Chilliwack in 2001 to be closer to their daughter, Mary-Susan, but Margaret loved living in Hope and was sad to leave.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Chilliwack on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 11:00 am. Rev. Paul Than Bui, celebrant. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Chilliwack. Personal Alternative Funeral Services in charge of arrangements.
