July 4, 1942 - November 30, 2022
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our loving Mother and Nana, Margaret Rose High at the age of 80.
Margaret was Born July 4, 1942 in Edmonton Alberta. She spent her early years on her family run orchard in Oliver, BC. In 1958, her family moved to Hope, BC where she met Robert (Bob) High the two were married on May 1, 1965. They were proud members of their community where they raised their two children Laura and Darren.
Margaret worked for many years as a medical office assistant for Doctors Gerd and Ursula Asche. When her children were young, Margaret ran a daycare in her home, so she could be home with them. When the kids got older, Margaret worked in the kitchen and as a physiotherapy aide at Fraser Canyon Hospital up until her retirement.
Margaret and Bob spent their time between Hope and enjoying "Lake Life" at their property on the Shuswap. Margaret also enjoyed spending time watching all of her grandchildren's sporting activities, volunteering at their schools, playing a good game of crib, and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Laura Metcalfe (Grant), her son Darren High (Heather), her four Grandchildren Madison, Mitchell, Carson and Garrett, her two sisters Margaret-Jean and Alana, and many loving nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her loving husband Bob High, her parents Harold and Doris Prichard, brother and sister-in-law Bernie and Kay Prichard.
It was Margaret's wishes to not have a service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or BC Children's Hospital.
