Lydia passed away peacefully at Fraser Hope Lodge. Born in Indian Head Sask., the family moved to BC where she worked as a secretary. She met Ernie and they were married in Mission on Oct. 30, 1959. She followed her husband to Hope for his work. They had 4 children: Karen (Bob) Orr of Sylvan Lake, AB, Arnie (Sheila) of Hope, BC, Gale (Carlson) Chui of Vancouver, BC and Lawrence (Karen) Carlson of Quesnel, BC.
Lydia was a stay at home mom and babysat for many families in town.
She was the only girl of 5 children and was predeceased by her parents, her twin brother and 2 other brothers as well as her husband Ernie.
Lydia is survived by her one brother, her 4 children, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
The family can't express enough the gratitude for the care she received by Dr. Greene, the nurses at Fraser Canyon Hospital, the nurses and caregivers at Fraser Hope Lodge and the home health caregivers for making her last year comfortable.
At Lydia's request there will be no service held. She was a great supporter of Variety Club, Children's Hospital and the Heart and Stroke foundation.
Donations can be made in her name in lieu of flowers.
