It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maurice Sidney Peters on July 23, 2021. Predeceased by his father Sidney (2018) and his brother Gordon (1982).
Maurice was survived by his proudest accomplishments, his son Mitchell (Brooke), daughter Jaimie (Dale) and youngest daughter Kelly (Nick). At his bedside was his devoted and loving mother, Roseanne, big brother David (Maureen), sister Karen (Phil) and younger brother Darren (Sharmon).
He will be remembered by many nieces and his nephew. We will miss him dearly.
Maurice was a faller in the logging business for the majority of his adult life. This took him from Revelstoke, Vancouver Island and Coast, New Zealand and the Fraser Valley. Safety was his first priority at all times while working in the bush. His athleticism was an asset in this extremely dangerous industry.
He loved his children, logging and being a faller, hockey, working and participating in many demolition derbies with his friends and brother Darren.
Maurice had a kind and giving heart. He never hesitated to offer a helping hand to others in need. His family would like to express their gratitude and thank Dr. Darby, Dr. Whalley, Dr. Haffey and the kind and wonderful nurses at the Fraser Canyon Hospital. He was treated with dignity, respect and a gentle kindness that we are truly grateful for.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date as per Maurice's wishes. May he rest in peace. Love him forever.
