Norma Wallace

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear friend Norma Wallace (nee Gahan) on March 7, 2017 just a few days before her 84th birthday. Norma was born March 10, 1933 in Liverpool England to Austin and Margaret Gahan. In England she trained as a kindergarten teacher, met and married Geoffrey Wallace in 1952. Together they moved to Canada in the mid 50's living in Prince George, Nova Scotia, Langley and Richmond. In the mid 80's they moved to Hope, built a new house and started a Bed and Breakfast business. After her husband's death in 1996, Norma became very involved in the Hope community. She joined the Auxiliary to Fraser Canyon Hospital and recently received her 20 year pin. She also volunteered for Kidney Foundation and Hope Visitor Centre and Museum. Over the years Norma formed many strong friendships with those she met. They were her extended family. Her life was a precious gift of hope, strength and grace. Norma made our world a brighter and better place. Her life well lived is a legacy of joy, pride and pleasure...a living lasting memory.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday March 20 at 11:00 am at Mountainview Cemetery in Hope, BC. A reception will follow at the Anglican Church Hall.

Donations in memory of Norma may be made to the Auxiliary of Fraser Canyon Hospital.
