MELNIK, Pauline Virginia. Feb. 14, 1941 - Aug. 18, 2011. Pauline passed away in the early hours of August 13th at Fraser Canyon Hospital. She was predeceased by her father and mother.

Survived by her loving husband of 50 years Robert (Bob), daughters Debbie (Colwell), Wendy (Cech), Tanya (Sawatsky), brother Ralph Smith and 8 grandchildren. Pauline will always be remembered for her enthusiastic and spirited personality and willingness to help others. She loved to golf and was recognized as "the hat lady" as she had a wonderful collection of colored hats. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed countless fishing, hunting and camping adventures. During her life she had many hobbies and interests including knitting, crocheting, reading, exercising at the gym and she loved to assist others if they had difficulties with their hobbies. She curled and bowled but her passion was golf when not camping with her family. She was a loyal fan of the Canuck's and BC Lions and seldom missed televised games. Pauline met many new friends while spending winter months in Southern California. She was a devoted and loving mother and took great pride in the achievements of her daughters and grandchildren. She taught them all to knit, crochet, garden and all other skills that bring joy and satisfaction in life. She was a jewel and she will be missed by all who knew her. Special thanks to the medical staff at Fraser Canyon Hospital and all the support from her many friends during her illness. A celebration of Pauline's life will be held at the Legion at 1 pm. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011.
