SMITH, Peggy Doreen
(March 11, 1927 - March 25, 2008)
Following a courageous four year battle with cancer, our mother Peggy Smith passed away in Hope, British Columbia.
Before coming to Canada at the age of 21, Mum served with the Land Army in England during WWII. She worked as a nurse in the Vancouver area before retiring to live in Hope in the mid 1980's where she enjoyed family gatherings, gardening and bowling. She is survived by her brother, Peter James, and two nephews in England. She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Nan James and by her husband and our father Alfred Morgan. In 2006, she was predeceased by her second husband Eric Smith.
Mum will be deeply missed by her family and many true friends in Canada, England and Australia. She so lovingly cared about her children and their families. Her children are Bruce (Cathy) Morgan, Fraser Morgan, Jim (Shelly) Morgan, Ford (Carol) Morgan, Sally (John) Gosse and Suzie (Jim) Shaw. "Mama" always remembered the birthdays of grandchildren Jeff, Rich, Mandy, Eli, Amy, Josh, Jamie, Kelly, Tammy, Shelley, Sara, Jessica, Christie, Dusty, Matthew, Morgan, Becky, Katie, Josie and Jory. She so very much cherished them and her great grandchildren.
