OSTLUND, Shirley Patricia
(nee FORBES) December 21, 1923 -
July 4, 2012. Shirley Patricia (Pat) Ostlund passed away peacefully in her 89th year at Fraser Hope Lodge in Hope, with her family beside her. She was predeceased by her husband Norman and son Richard, and is survived by daughters Joanne (Brian Howard) and Patricia (Kevin Magnall), and son James. In 1948, Pat and Norm moved from Edmonton, Alberta to Hope, where they raised their four children. After raising her own family, Pat enjoyed spoiling five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pat was a life-long member of the Anglican Church and served for nearly 70 years on the Altar Guild, both in Edmonton and Hope. She was a Girl Guide Leader for 10 years and enjoyed many camping and hiking trips. Pat was an avid star watcher and naturalist, and instilled her love of nature in her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed. Special thanks to the staff at Fraser Hope Lodge for the extraordinary care and kindness extended to Pat and her family.
