Terry-Lynn Mercer went to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on January 20th 2019 with family by her side, after a long hard battle with cancer. Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the compassionate staff at the Fraser Canyon Hospital and Fraser Canyon Hospice Society for the incredible care they took of Terry-Lynn during her extended stay.
Terry-Lynn was born in Toronto Ontario but moved to British Columbia when she was 13 years of age, along with her father, mother and three brothers. In 1981, she moved to Hope, B.C. with her husband Gary where they would raise their family and make many meaningful relationships.
Shortly after moving to Hope, Terry-Lynn became a realtor where she sold Real Estate for twenty five years, her charismatic energy and business mind were a perfect fit. In 2007 Gary and Terry-Lynn purchased Bee's Food Market and ran it successfully for 11 years. This quietly became her ministry and passion. She loved to make sure she made it a fun and welcoming place where she built many great relationships with patrons young and old from within her community and beyond.
She has always used her talents to serve her community, helping and encouraging others along with being an active member of the Grace Baptist church. She enjoyed the artistic side of herself by playing piano, guitar, singing as well as gardening, painting and crocheting.
Terry-Lynn loved being a grandma, ensuring she made real and meaningful relationships with each one of her grandsons. She enjoyed bird watching, painting, swimming, an evening out at the movies with them or just hearing about their day. For Terry-Lynn and the boys it wasn't always about what they were doing it was just about being together.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 38 years Gary Mercer, Daughters - Heather High (Darren) Deanna Gobin (Justin) Sons - Dean Mercer (Amber), Grant Mercer and three grandchildren Carson High, Garrett High, Gaige Gobin and her brothers Mike, Neil and Tedd Hill.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 23rd at the Hope Golf and Country Club from 1-3 pm. Please join us as we remember her and share stories amongst family and friends. Donations can be made to the Fraser Canyon Hospice Society in lieu of flowers.
