Mr. Tofi Chambers, late of Abbotsford, BC passed away on Feb.19, 2007 at the age of 86.
He is survived by his loving wife Winnifred, devoted daughter Beverly (Philip) Scott and their son Bradley, son Jim (Barb) Chambers and their children Jackie, Kate, Chris, and Jill, stepson John (Marion) Inskip and their children Kirby and Karen, his sisters and brothers Josephine, Anne, Vicky, Ed and Bruce, and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He was predeceased by his first wife Gertrude (Gertie) Chambers, his parents Stanley and Rose Chambers, and his sisters and brothers Nell, Sally, Jack, Steve and Frank.
Tofi was one of the last surviving members of his platoon “Queens Own Cameron Highlanders”. He was a very active member in the Legion for over 50 years, as well as in Power Pioneers and the community. He was one of the charter members of the Hope Legion. He was also a Past Legion President.
Funeral Services were held on Monday, Feb. 26, 2007 at 10:30 am from Henderson’s Chapel at 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford with Rev. Ken Dean officiating. A reception at the Eagles, 33868 Essendene, Abbotsford followed the service. Interment at Hazelwood Cemetery will take place at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Research Society in Tofi’s memory.
