Dr. Ursula Victoria Asche-Quint passed away February 10, 2017. Dr. Ursula was a long time and respected member of the Hope community. She was a practicing physician during this time and had delivered over 3,500 babies both in Hope and the surrounding communities. Dr. Ursula was very active and especially enjoyed skiing at Manning Park, where she also lent her skills as a medical attendant to the Ski Patrol for many years. During her retirement years, she was very involved and contributed greatly to the Fraser Canyon Hospice Society. Dr. Ursula is survived by her husband, Dr. Gerd Asche, daughter Florence (Walter Daniska), son Carl (Carmen Kirkness-Asche) and grandchildren, Michael Daniska (predeceased), Nancy Daniska, Charles Asche, and Catherine Asche. Also from Germany: sister Margret (predeceased), Helmut Fries (predeceased), niece Beate (Jurgen Schmidt), grandnieces Anna and Juliane, nephew Ulrich Fries (Susanne), and grandniece Felicitas; sister Lore Quint; and sister Marlies (Hans Kaiser), nephew Gerd (Isabel), grandnieces Astrid and Katrin, and nephew Achim. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Fraser Canyon Hospice Society.
