Velma (Reenie) Laurine Whims passed away on June 22, 2005 at the age of 81 years after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her father Leonard Wood; mother Winifred Elizabeth Hargreves; brothers Albert and Ross; sisters Audrey and Marjorie. Reenie is survived by her loving family: husband Fredrick Whims; brother Robert (Dorothy) Wood; her daughter Susan; stepson Cameron; nephews John and Rob; nieces Beverly and Lynne. A Graveside Service was held Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Mountainview Cemetery in Hope with Reverend Ken Wotherspoon officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the BC Cancer Foundation in Velma's memory.
